Rezumat

Vieru’s poetry explores the symbol as a way of creation and images that is important for its construction. The poet is drawn by primordial essences, by metaphors and symbols. He confers a new connotation to the traditional symbols giving them aesthetic capacities characterised by a great artistic novelty. The most known symbols used by the poet are: the symbol of a tear, flower, tree, shirt, flight, leaf, bread, house, sky and earth etc. Important is the symbol of grass that the poet assigns to himself by means of the epitath „I am a blade of grass. I can’t be simpler.” Being commented in the following wau: „To be simple means to die little bz little for the majoritz everz daz until you become grass.” By means of these symbols, the poet Grigore Vieru highlights the permanence of things, the artistic beuty, the essences of life contributing to the formation of the whole image of human existence.
