In this article the author examines the ornaments of the atlas and embroidery of Uzbekistan associated with animals and analyzes their meanings and factors of appearance, as well as features of ornaments depending on territories and regions. The article doesn’t just compare the ornaments of traditional embroidery and atlas, but also the main factors in the emergence of new ornaments that are used in the present times, including the “Swallow”, “Scorpio” and “Frog”. During the Soviet period, the traditional handicraft changed as a result of the appearance of factories, and as a result, the basic ornaments and their meanings were forgotten. In the craft several new ornaments have arisen which lack any historical roots. The form of animals has always been associated with the craft and was popular as a mythological, political and spiritual basis for everyone and it is relevant to explore and analyze their roots and meaning. |
