Rezumat

The article reveals the creative portrait of the pianist and teacher Yuli Moiseevich Guz, the first head of the piano Department of the Kishinev Chisinau state Conservatory, a brilliant concert performer and teacher who was at the origins of piano education in the Republic of Moldova. Born in Odessa, Yuli Guz got a versatile education. His tutors on piano art were a Pole Iu. Lialevich, G. Bart and l. Godovsky, both Germans, a Russian Pianist M.Barinova. Intensive multisided activity took place in Kishinev in the period of 1915–1957. The musician exhibited himself by interpreting mostly the creations of composers- romantics. An important sphere of his professional activity was pedagogical. Among the names of his students were such as St. Neaga, N. Ilinitsky, M. Litvin, O. Iancu, H. Talmazsky, A. Dailis. During 1940–1953 the pianist headed the State Conservatory piano department. Multisided and fruitful U. Guze’s activity became an example of devotion to the art of music and an example for all colleagues of the piano department
