Rezumat

Recently, more and more “invisible” museum complexes appear, the space of which and hidden underground. A large number of museum buildings have been designed and built in the world, in which part of the premises used for public functions and located underground. Revealing the architectural techniques used in the design of buried museum complexes makes it possible to expand the set of architectural tools and serve as the basis for the development of regulatory documentation for the design and buried museum buildings. Recessed structures, as well as a literal connection with the landscape of the area, allows not to argue with the morphotype of the surrounding buildings, not to disturb the general appearance of the park or the panorama of historical buildings. If the terrains and scenic enough, or if the inhabitants want more eye contact with the environment, then a semi-buried building on a slope seems to be morepreferable than an above-ground building on the flat terrain. Examples of buried museum buildings from the world and Russian practice, given in the article, demonstrate the number of functional advantages of such objects. The authors present a variety of architectural and artistic images and various approaches to the requirements for the organization of a buried museum space, both in the interior and the exterior, emphasizing the role and importance of the integrated design of underground museum complexes in the historical and architectural ensemble and natural landscape based on the techniques of green architecture
