This article is dedicated to the art of sculpture and the creation of the contemporary sculptor Victor Macovei, to the analysis of the masterpieces and the encountered problems on the way to cultivating the beauty in society. The artist’s name is well-known to the public and his works of art surely kept the passers-by attention more than once. All his is life has been devoted to sculpturing. Up to this moment he has in his collection countless exhibitions, national and international symposium participations. V. Macovei is an active public personality, present at many artistic events. The vocation’s force was decisive, so the attraction for sculpturing, for modeling, dominates and prevails any other occupation. He is building his art career, a spectacular sculpturing career very consciously so that his creations leave no one indifferent. On the Alley of Classics in Chisinau, among other valuable creations, there are two pieces of art realized by V. Macovei in tandem with Ruslan Tihonciuc. They are the busts of the great classics Dumitru Matcovschi and Grigore Vieru, notorious names, names that have historical value, the true ambassadors of Romanian culture. Another series of works are the commemorative plaques of many outstanding personalities, like Mihail Grecu, Natalia Dadiani, V. Voițehovschi, Al. Bernardazzi, Pavel Barbălat. The „Kilometrul 0” creation is a collaboration of V. Macovei și R. Tihonciuc sculptors, which is a city masterpiece. These and many other contributions serve as an image change of the city from a poor and pessimistic into a positive one, full of high standards and professional artistic.
