Each nation and ethnos has its own distinctive features. Among them are such values as language, history, traditions, national costume, and music, finally, dance. The sooner a person begins to absorb the knowledge of these values, the more durable his ethnos will be, the sharper his national identity will be. Speaking specifically about folk dance, then this is probably one of the brightest ways of self-expression. It demonstrates the mentality, identity and temperament of people associated with one ethnicity. |
