The article is devoted to the features of conscription on the territory of Bessarabia in 1812–1856. This heavy duty did not affect most of the population of Bessarabia. Nevertheless, a small number of natives of this region entered service in the Russian army as recruits. The conscription affected certain social and ethnic groups of Bessarabia. Analysis of features of conscription on the territory of Bessarabia demonstrates the contradictions of imperial politics on the example of a separate region of the Russian Empire. |
