The article is devoted to the study of the development of Turkish language in the Safavid period. The vast majority of local and foreign sources confirm that in the Safavid era, the Azerbaijani (Turkish) language was the main language of communication in the palace and in the army, especially among the Kyzylbash aristocracy. Correspondence with many countries was conducted in this language. The Azerbaijani language has also played a major role as a means of communication among many peoples living in the empire. In these years, the tradition of writing in Turkish in various directions (literary, religious, scientific, etc.) and in various fields has been further developed and lived in its prosperity. Not only poetic works in Turkish, but also prose and translation works began to emerge and ashug art and ashug poetry developed.
