Most experts in the international migration of the labor force believe that the shocks of the pandemic experienced by labor migration have seriously changed its present and future and led to the situation of playing the "migrant card". On the one hand, many migrants are in dire straits, waiting for the end of restrictive measures, knowing full well that access to the labor market will be restricted, on the other hand, temporarily closed borders and unemployment at home makes their return home unpromising. This article is devoted to the study of the current situation in order to answer the following questions: are the changes in 2020 a turning point and how significant their impact on the future of labor migration of our country, Moldova, and what changes should be made to migration policy in the face of existing barriers to migration movements? |
