Rezumat

The charm, authenticity and picturesque character of the traditional wedding literary creations in Bucovina reveal a unique, ample manifestation of the local creative spirit and its endurance throughout generations. The wedding ceremony in Poiana Stampei, rich in props and symbols is constructed through deeply meaningful texts, anchored in ancient wisdom that generates timeless values. It should also be noted the remarkable use of literary genres and subgenres. The folklore elements become obvious in the wedding ceremony text particularly in orations, greetings, toasts, departure (or sorrow) songs, rejoicing songs, ballads, Shouts (a performance similar to slam poetry, specifi c to traditional Romanian weddings), dances and marches, and a variety of other spectacular artistic manifestations. As part of a larger coming-of-age ritual, the wedding ceremony is made of three main parts: the engagement, the wedding and the post-wedding activities. In this study, I have focused on extracted from the wedding: The Basil, The Forgiveness, The Bridal Veil Dance, The Shirt Dance, The Tying of the In-Laws and the God-Parents and The Flowers Changing. These texts were chosen due to their extensive symbolism, representations, stylistic richness and unique themes, to highlight the multitude of meanings encompassed in the authentic, popular literary text.
