For example the village of Musait Taraclia region and the village of Lucesti of the Cagul district considered the features of the New Year ritual complex “Malanka” among Ukrainians in the south of Moldova. The analyzed local variants of “Milanka” are characterized by: mixed sex and age groups, a heavy, leveled carnival principle, characters of anthropomorphic and zoomorphic nature, pronounced transformations of the folk tradition against the background of noticeable loss of their individual elements. |
