Rezumat

The article presents the definitions of the concepts of “personality”, “secondary linguistic personality”, “proverbs”, “intercultural communication”, given by domestic linguists and methodologists; The importance of using teaching and learning materials using proverbs and sayings to expand the vocabulary and develop linguistic competence of students, the formation of value orientations in teaching a foreign language is revealed, and the role of proverbs of the multinational South Ural region in the implementation of intercultural communication is shown.
