Rezumat

This article is dedicated to assessment of flood volume for 47 pilot river basins which runoff is formed within the territory of the Republic of Moldova. Contribution of land cover types to flood volume generation was estimated by identification of runoff yield and coefficient from different types of vegetation basing on SCS-CN model as well as recommendations from national and regional normative documents. The results showed that on average for 47 rivers the highest contribution to total flood volume comes from arable area with 55,7%, followed by settlements, forests and grassland with ~12% each as well as perennial plantations with 8,86%.
