The purpose of our research was to assess the codling moth forecasting model in different areas of the Republic of Moldova. It was shown that codling moth capture in pheromone traps and degree days acquired after Biofix can serve as basic criteria for forecast of development of the pest in the southern and central parts of Moldova. Deviation from the actual forecast data does not exceed two days, which is sufficient for the correct application of protective measures. Codling moth forecast model implemented into the decision support system “OptimClass” may be used in apple integrated pest management systems in different areas of the Republic of Moldova. Protective measures made according model forecasts contribute to raising the effectiveness of treatments in controlling the codling moth. |
