Rezumat

The study of features of the vernacular (internal) landscape of the Ukrainians of Central Moldova, in particular in the village Ivancha, Orhei district, was carried out through the disclosure of the categories “landscape”, “place” and “memory”. The following local subjects were selected for study: the village Ivancha and the memorable places of the Moldovan Codri; the estate of Balioz in the cultural memory of the inhabitants; traditional life support practices of local Ukrainians; features of intercultural communications and issues of self-identification of Ivancha villagers. The importance of the local tradition, as a carrier of collective memory formed in the conditions of Ukrainian-Moldovan intercultural coexistence, is emphasized. Through the analysis of the relationship between the local community and the natural conditions of its residence, it became possible to determine the features of folk homebuilding, food preferences and economic practices. Oral-historical narratives and our own observations also allowed us to show the formative role of the former estate of the landowner K. Balioz in the mental construction of the local landscape. At the same time, the location of the village Ivancha in the area of Old Orhei also has a significant impact on such construction. Its natural and cultural protected landscape has not received the status of special protection of UNESCO as a world heritage of humanity in vain. The materials of the research also showed that in the conditions of longterm polyethnic existence, the local community was still able to preserve its own originality. In particular, the essential factors of identity are the native language, preserved in everyday life, as well as attempts to cherish traditional spiritual culture in modern conditions. The creation of public organizations, the activity of the local folklore collective, the search of the newest forms for self-presentation, and conscious harmonious intercultural coexistence are important components of the vernacular landscape of Ivancha villagers, but also it is a necessary aspect of ethnic identity development of all Ukrainian community of Moldova as a whole.
