Semidesert steppes of the “Prutul de Jos” valley are wide spread on the sunny southern slopes and are estimated at over 973 hectares. From the fl oristic and phytogeographic point of view they present some xeroterme grasslands scattered steppe. Semidesert steppes are included in the community of steppes of the pontic origin with a great arid climate and are represented by the mezoxerophil and xerophil species. |
