‘Anastasie Fătu’ Botanic Garden of ‘Alexandru Ioan Cuza’ University of Iasi has a very important role in didactical, scientifi c and educational activities and is focused on plants diversity conservation and their use as long-term resource. By the variety of themes, aims and area, in the Botanical Garden are approached complex problems referring to landscape architecture and ex situ conservation of plants diversity. Strategic aims of our botanic garden refers to native plants species conservation, endemic, threatened and rare species collections development, germplasm resources development, reproduction biology, micro-propagation, genetic variability and ecomorphology studies. Botanic Garden of Iasi is a foundation member of the Romanian Botanic Gardens Association (2000) and is affi liated to the International Plants Exchange Network (2009). |
