Rezumat

Bovine papilomatosis is a viral disease clinically characterized by emergence and development of benign cutaneous tumors. The study was performed on 10 cows suffering with severe forms of papillomatosis  (7 females and 3 males), in a period of 2 years. The diagnosis of BPV was based on clinical signs and histological findings. The animals were divided in 2 lots. First lot was treated using autogenous vaccine in dose of 10 ml s/c and revaccinated at 10-day interval. The second lot underwent surgical treatment by removing the warts and closing the wounds by suture. Surgical excision was done on warts bigger than 0.3 mm. The cows were observed 8 weeks. Surgical wounds were healed at 5 weeks after the ablation and in the case of autogenous vaccine total remission was observed at 6 weeks after the first administration. No recurrence of papillomas has been observed in treated cows.
