An editorial policy is indispensable for a TV station, because it should provide editors and journalists with guidance on how to handle the media content on the basis of its objective and mission and of the demands of its target audience. This thesis focuses on the Jurnal TV’s editorial guidelines in news, the way these have been created and how these are fulfilled. Jurnal TV wants to be the gold standard in all it does, whether this is in the provision of information, education or entertainment. Nowadays, TV is playing an important role in our day to day life. Therefore, the public expects the information they receive from Jurnal TV to be authoritative and the editorial policies accordingly place great stress on standards of fairness, accuracy and impartiality.
