The company’s operational strategy changes every decade, according to the changes that take place in the production management, focusing first on productivity and scale economies, quality, ensuring the flexibility of the production from the production planning context, customer orientation, and next - on the economy of speed, innovation and knowledge, skills and cooperation. For these reason, one of the managerial problems is the choice of the operational strategy. The selection methodology proposed in the article implies the comparison and selection of an operational strategy from a set of alternatives according to the achievable indicators in the medium and long term. All indicators are transformed into indices on a comparison base of their values after and until the implementation of the strategy. The strategy with the highest general index will be considered the best option.
