Justiţia a fost percerută mereu ca o funcţie fundamentală a statului, motiv pentru care administrarea ei reprezintă unul dintre scopurile majore ale statului de drept. Fără justiţie nu poate exista o veritabilă şi efi cientă democraţie. Anume justiţia este cea care veghează la apărarea valorilor sociale recunoscute într-o societate democratică, la promovarea şi apărarea drepturilor fundamentale ale omului. Justiţia este, prin urmare, unul dintre elementele esenţiale ale statului de drept şi ale consolidării lui.

Justice has always been perceived as a fundamental function of the state, that’s why its administration is one of the major goals of the rule-of-law state. Without justice there can be no true and eff ective democracy. It is precisely the justice that keeps vigilant watch on the defense of the social values recognized in a democratic society, the promotion and defense of the fundamental human rights. Justice is therefore one of the essential elements of the rule-of-law state and its consolidation.
