Rezumat

Genetic diversity can contribute to genetic progress in facing the new challenger imposed by a changing world in a changing climate The paper summarizes the work being done at the Institute of Crop Plants "Porumbeni". The great experience of cultivation, favorable environmental conditions, adaptability of hybrids and the safety of obtaining the produce in the most difficult years are the basic factors which make possible the cultivation of corn in Republic of Moldova. In the article is represented the system of creation and implementation of maize hybrids which was developed during the activity of our Institute. The right implementation of this system, which consists of collaborating with all Institute's laboratories from maize breeding domain, was confirmed by the cultivation surfaces occupied by "Porumbeni" hybrids during the entire period of Institute's activity.
