An experimental setup for determining the elemental composition of materials by Prompt Gamma-ray thermal Neutron Activation analysis (PGNAA) is under developing at Frank Laboratory of Neutron Physics (FLNP) 11b channel IBR-2 reactor of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in Dubna, Russian Federation. 11b channel is equipped with mirror neutron guide which brings from reactor IBR-2 into experimental room thermal neutrons with the mean energy of ~ 0,025 eV. For registering the prompt gamma-rays from the interaction of the neutrons with sample nuclei we used high purity germanium gamma detector (HPGe) which has high energy resolutions and 80% relative efficiency of gamma-rays registration. The gamma-detector was protected with cadmium covered lead shielding. A set of measurements was performed for determination of the hydrogen content in the nano diamond sample. Some preliminary results are reported. |
