Rezumat

The article raises the question of the atavisms in the politics of memory inherited from the Soviet period, especially the Soviet ideological clishes from the political milieu of the Republic of Moldova concerning the Second World War which omit entire chapters from the history of Bessarabia and its population. Thus, the notion of the Great War for the Defense of the Matherland still returns today in the acts issued by some state institutions of the Republic of Moldova, being one of the ideological vehicles of some governments and political parties which are nostalgic after the Soviet imperial past. The article brings testimonies about the crimes committed by the totalitarian-communist regime since the beginning of the Second World War and the occupation of Bessarabia by the Soviet Union as a consequence of the Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact and its secret annex
