After the war of 1948-1949, caused by the desire of the Arabs to „throw Israel into the sea”, the Palestinian problem emerged, which finally took shape as a result of the Six-Day War of 1967 and is still one of the key components of the Middle East conflict. It is multifaceted, but mainly consisting of three elements: the first is the problem of refugees; the second is the status of Jerusalem; the third is the problem of Jewish settlements in the occupied (disputed) territories. The solution of all these issues should lead to the creation of a Palestinian independent state. |
