Rezumat

Architecture is the „expression in stone” of human measure. It is a visual language with a certain code, known and understandable to people, which transmits messages using indirect signals. Any architectural construction provides with the information about a specific cultural and historical epoch and always carries an imprint of its creator, who transforms the external reality through its own imagination and offers the creator’s own picture of the real world. The result is a complex organized matrix with a certain hierarchy of constituent parts. In the human image, encoded in architecture, there are three different dimen-sions, namely anthropomorphic, anthropometric and anthropological ones. The basis of the anthropomorphic aspect is the correspondence of the names of the constituent elements of architectural construction to parts of the human body. The anthropometric aspect brings to the forefront the relationships between the system of measures and the various parts of the human body. Anthropological dimension defines the whole architectural composition according to the human qualities. „The human” theme can be seen in every developed urban plan, every regular bastion fortress and every construction, which has the parameters of an architectural monument. Architecture responds to any human gesture, movement and thought. The change of a human’s internal state leads to some modifications of the architectural form, and the human image is viewed in any architectural structure to a greater or lesser degree.
