The study of breeding and productive qualities of cows of Baltata cu negru breed of North moldovian subtype has been performed at SRL ILR Agro Maiac farm, an a number of cows. From the studied herd 86,4% of cows obtained class Elite Record and 11.9% class Elite, the cows had medium lenght of exploitation a wich lasted 2,57 lactations. Milk production of the cows had registered at first lactation – 6257kg, of second lactation – 6300kg and at third lactation – 70,7, the fat content of the milk was corespondingly 3,77%, 3,84% and 3,80%. Milk index varied on lactations between 11,1 and 12,3kg, and typifies the cows herd as a well expressed milk type. The body weight depends on the loctations and it was at first lactation 506,1 kg, at second – 567,3kg and third it was over 586,1 kg, and overreached the standard requirement with 5.4- 9.1%. The medium duration of period service lasts 135.2 days and doesnit excend optimal parameters.
