The recent scientific research concerning epidemiology of viral hepatitis B and C in Republic of Moldova underlined that the significant number of cases were registered in the age group of 20-29 years old. Within the framework of the National Programme to control viral hepatitis B, C and D in the Republic of Moldova, during 2007 to 2011, 1182 women of the above mentioned fertile age group and from different geographical regions have
been tested for serological markers. The research results showed that 4.4% of the tested persons were positive to AgHBs and 2,7% to anti-HCV. Certain percent differences of the AgHBs were identified in various geographical regions, varying especially between North (1.8%) and South (7.4%), Central (2.4%) and South (7.4%). For the first time the evolution statuses of VHB and VHC were established according to the standard diagnostic algorithm. It was also determined the effectiveness of anti VHB vaccination
in the studied population, after a three years period from the final course of vaccination. Thus 74% of tested people were positive to anti-HBs, but 46,1 % have only 10-50 UI/l. The results indicate the need of fertile women’s vaccination against VHB.
