Rezumat

Thiosemicarbazones and their derivatives form stable coordination compounds with almost all d-metals. Many of these substances possess biological activity. It was found that the biological properties of these complexes correlate with their structures.  The aim of this work is the determination of structural properties of bis[methyl-N-(prop-2-en-1-yl)-N'-(pyridin-2-ylmethylidene)carbamohydrazonothioate]zinc(II) iodide [Zn(L)2]I2 (I) and hydrate of bis [methyl-N-(prop-2-en-1-yl)-N'-(pyridin-2-ylmethylidene)carbamohydrazonothioate]nickel(II) iodide [Ni(L)2]I2·H2O (II). The complexes I and II exhibit octahedrally coordinated zinc and nickel atoms. The nitrogen atoms of ligand L occupy the six coordination sites and octahedral volumes of these complexes are equal to 12.109 and 11.167 Å3, respectively.
