Acest demers științific are ca scop principal identificarea și analiza contextuală a fenomenului migrației colecțiilor muzeale, o problemă absolut neelucidată in literatura de specialitate, dar frecvent intalnită in R. Moldova și nu numai. Cercetarea este realizată in baza studiului de caz – patrimoniul MNEIN, arhiva muzeului și mărturiile celor mai in varstă angajați ai muzeului. Sunt determinate tipurile migrației pieselor muzeale, unele incadrandu-se in legislația existentă, altele, făcand excepții. Studiul sesizează mai multe aspecte ce țin de drepturile instituției muzeale, dar și instituției superioare, in cazul de față, Ministerul Educației, Culturii și Cercetării, de a decide soarta unor colecții prin transmiterea lor altor muzee, la fel, erorile admise in procesul transmiterilor forțate. Cititorul va avea prilejul să cunoască colecțiile muzeale care au migrat din, dar și spre muzeu, intrand in patrimoniul MNEIN, parțial istoriile acestor colecții

The main aim of this scientific investigation is the identification and context analysis of the phenomenon of migration of museum items, a topic that hasn’t been considered before in the special literature, but it is frequently encountered in the Republic of Moldova and not only. The research is based on a single case study – the MNEIN heritage, the museum archive and the witnesses of the most aged employees of the museum. The types of migration of museum items are determined, some of them according to the existing legislation, while the others make exception from it. The study points out several aspects related to the rights of the museal institution, as well as of the superior institutions, in this case, the Minister of Culture, in determining the fate of some collections by transmitting them to other museums, as well the errors that were admitted in the process of forced transmissions. The reader will have the opportunity to learn about the museum collections that migrated from, but also to the museum, becoming a part of the MNEIN heritage, as well as partially the histories of these collections
