This study started from the particularities of the „Curtea Domnească” necropolis from Iași – Romania (17th century), in which 111 human skeletons were discovered, 72% of them belonging to males. This sex ratio may indicate the presence of a allogeneic group. Therefore this study focuses on cranial morphometric similarities and differences between “Curtea Domnească” sample and others from five synchronous archaeological sites situated in the Central Moldavian Plateau (12th – 18th centuries). Four cranial indexes were subjected to the Multivariate Analysis Of Variance with pairwise comparisons and multiple discriminant (Canonical Variate) analysis. The analysis was performed separately for males and females. Our results demonstrate no significant morphometric differences in female analysis (DFA: F=1.12; p=0.36). In the case of males, the results obtained highlight some similarities and significant differences between the „Curtea Domnească” necropolis and the others samples involved in our study (MANOVA/CVA: F=3.2; p<0.05). The similarities statistical functions are determinated by 2 indices: orbital index (52/51) and tranversal poriobregmatic index 20/8. A possible allogeneic group in the „Curtea Domnească” necropolis is highlighted by the cranial index (8/1) and the longitudinal poriobregmatic index (20/1). Our morphometric results separate the sample from „Curtea Domnească” necropolis to the others from Central Moldavian Plateau, taken in our study. These results require correlation with historical events and archaeological data.
