Rezumat

This paper presents results of dissemination of flexible PWM scheme for control and determination of dwell times of synchronized cascaded H-bridge drive inverter with special switching sequences. In comparison with known techniques of synchronous PWM for three-level inverters (with a full set of voltage vectors), the proposed approach assures voltage synchronization and symmetry and for fractional ratios between the switching and fundamental frequencies of inverters. The used PWM scheme insures in this case minimum number of switchings of converter and minimal switching losses in drive systems on the base of H-bridge inverters. The proposed approach ensures also smooth automatic transition from one control regime to another (from regime of low fundamental frequencies to regime of medium fundamental frequencies, and then transition to regime of higher fundamental frequencies including overmodulation control zone). Simulations validate performance of cascaded inverter with basic continuous and discontinuous versions of this technique of modulation.
