The world is undergoing massive urbanization and Republic of Moldova is not an exception. Today, when international security environment is facing major difficulties, the urban area and urban environment get a decisive role in the context of countering the new risks and threats.Thus, a distinct challenges for Moldova are the military hybrid threats. Such types of threats require rethinking and evaluating the urban operations, due to the complexity of military and terrorist threats and risks. The urban areas have always been the central zones, or have been significantly influenced by military operations. In this context, we find that the conflict in the Eastern Ukraine demon­strates that the understanding of the urban environment is an essential element in preventing and limiting of the adversary objectives. This article describes the analysis of Moldova’s urban environment at operational and tactic level. The recommendations are given, based on the Ukrainian events, in order to prevent a potentioal military hybrid attack
