The analysis is given in the article concerning the Moldovan-Russian relations in the key areas of cooperation during the last 25 years since the establishment of diplomatic rela­tions. The author also analyzes the potential of the full and comprehensive strategic coopera­tion development between the states. The analysis shows that the preservation of Moldova's foreign policy towards the European integration and its further maintenance should not be opposed to the strengthening and development of the strategic partnership with Russia. The sequence of actions for the implementation of national interests and the manifestation of pragmatism in foreign policy will enable the Republic of Moldova to develop a new strategy for the bilateral relations development with Russian Federation and cooperation with Euro­pean Union.
