Rezumat

The purpose of this article is to provide a general overview of the Moldovan energy sector, the companies operating in the given field, their performances, as well as to reflect the investment and development trends in this strategic sector. The given subject is an actual one taking into account the importance of the energy sector in the Republic of Moldova, but also the geostrategic position of the country. Through the Association Agreement with the European Union, the Republic of Moldova has taken a number of commitments, including the reform in the energy sector. National authorities have already taken the first steps in this respect by linking the legal framework to European practices. In this paper were used such research methods as: documentary method, data grouping method, graphic method, synthesis and comparison method etc. As a result of this research, it is proposed to elucidate the new challenges that the new legislative framework imposes on companies that activate in the energy sector.
