В статье освещены вопросы организации полицейской деятельности в Украине и США. Особый интерес для исследования составляет структура, функции и система управления полицейской деятельностью в такой развитой демократической стране, как Соединенные Штаты Америки, где эта деятельность, пройдя долгий и непростой путь развития, убедительно доказывает свою эффективность и пользуется должным уровнем поддержки и доверия народа. Реализация в Украине международных стандартов и учета опыта ведущих стран мира актуализирует вопросы изучения системы организации полицейской деятельности в США, особенно учитывая постепенное децентрализации органов правопорядка в Украине.  

The article deals with the issues of organization of police activity in Ukraine and the USA. Of particular interest to the study is the structure, functions and system of policing in a developed, democratic state like the United States of America, where this activity, having undergone a long and difficult path of development, is convincingly proven effective and enjoys the appropriate level of support and trust in the people. The implementation in Ukraine of international standards and taking into account the experience of the leading countries of the world actualizes the issue of studying the system of policing in the USA, especially given the gradual decentralization of law enforcement in Ukraine. The US experience, where the organization of police activities is regulated in detail and enshrined in the current legislation, should be adapted to the process of forming the structure of the National Police during the reform of the police in Ukraine.
