The most notable thing about the Ion Druta’s novel, Biserica Albă (The White Church) is the fact that the title is a twofold symbol, the church represents the sacredness, and the colour white stands for purity. Another important aspect that is worth to be mentioned is that the subject of the novel is shaped by three main levels:aspects of the russo-turkish war, the struggle lead by one woman, Ecaterina, for keeping alive the faith in God of the dwellers of Ocolina, and elements which make up the hagiography of father Paisie Velicikovski.
