The development of the industry has greatly changed people’s life, making it easier. Unfortunately, the consequences are not only positive. The decrease of natural resources, the pollution and degradation of natural factors conditioned the appearance of a new concept the Sustainable Development that can solve the problems between society and environment. School is an important factor in people’s life, that is why it can contribute to the education of a new generation responsible of its actions. This article proposes some examples of mathematic tasks that enquire not only mathematic knowledge, but also motivate students to take attitude in solving environmental problems. ESD consequently promotes competencies like making decisions for impoving the future life.
