The paper discusses the basic notions of the concept "smart specialization" (SS) that is widely used in the EU countries. The main development trends of Ukraine in the sphere of innovation in recent years are analyzed. The challenges and opportunities of the country on the practical use of the SS concept are evaluated. Creation of favorable conditions for the formation of "smart specialization" is significantly hampered by the unfavorable situation on foreign markets and deep economic crisis that the country is experiencing in recent years. The conclusion is made about the need to harmonize the scientific and technical, innovation, industrial policies with each other and with related EU policy types. |
