The volume signed by Gheorghe Chivu, a known philologist and editor of the Romanian ancient writing’s monuments, brings together a considerable number of studies on old Romanian texts of the 16th – 18th centuries. These articles treat both philological problems (such as dating, localization, parentage or paternity of texts), as well as issues related to linguistic characteristics of the writings kept in the Romanian library funds (especially those of the Library of the Academy from Bucharest) and in the foreign ones.
