Rezumat

The present article refers to some of the theoretical texts of Eugène Ionesco, published under the title of Notes et contre-notes. The volume gathers some of the author’s most important texts regarding his theatrical creation, the theater of the absurd and the contemporary art in general. The playwright gives to the readers a keen insight into the genesis of his own plays and offers and discusses possible solutions in order to overcome the crisis of the representation. Multiple strategies are envisaged through a play that is happening here and now and directly implies its spectators. Ionesco’s plays offer a coherent synthesis of some series of bipolar tensions (opacity/transparency, anxiety/euphoria, spirit/anti-spiritual forces) and realize a singular fusion that bears the original signature of an iconoclast author, who, with black humor, was an indefatigable fighter with the purpose of saving what still represents a human value in all of us.
