This article analyzes the scientific input of Eugeniu Speranţia in enriching knowledge in the area of the philosophy of law, legal sociology and history of ideas, by presenting connections between ideologies, lawmaking, governance and the achievement of justice – as a directional value for both political and legal elites, and the citizens of any state, in his outlook. The ideas of E. Speranţia are still up-to-date due to the convincingly argued way in which he rejected totalitarian doctrines, the mystics of the National Socialist and Soviet state, the distortion of social realities to ensnare and delude the mindset of crowds but, especially, due to how he promoted the rationalistic and humanistic position in justifying lawmaking, the functioning of the state and justice.
