Genre en apparence modeste, il nécessite une immense intelligence interprétative, restant souvent hermétique si on ne prend pas en considération les composantes herméneutiques de profondeur propres pour chaque auteur. Colette est une observatrice sagace de la Réalité et du spectacle du monde qu’elle a observé d'une manière extrêmement réceptive. L’auteure fait preuve d’une excellence et d’une maîtrise indéniable dans l'élaboration des portraits, tant au niveau de la structure, qu'à celui de la technique et de l'expression. Le portrait littéraire colettien témoigne d’une étroite affinité entre le registre narratif, descriptif, interprétatif et une forte intégration des portraits dans l'économie générale des récits. The author demonstrates an excellent and undeniable mastery in drawing portraits, both in terms of the structure and of the technique and expression. The Colette’s literary portrait reflects a close affinity between the narrative, descriptive, interpretative register and a strong integration of the portraits in the general thrift of the narratives. Being a master dedicated to the “complete” and / or “distributed” portrait with its “picked up” and / or “exploded” structure; as an integrated unity (to the system of all other portraits of the work) and / or as an integral unity (a unity including a number of elements around a proper name), Colette-portraitist is manifested by his cumulative and inclusive discourse, by the narrativized description (Colette “tells” the portrait), by the discontinuity of information, by the definition of moral essences and value judgments. All these features are revealed only through some principled hermeneutic dimensions which we would like to analyze and highlight in this research.
