An obstacle to freedom of information in the Republic of Moldova is non-recognition of the legislation in the field and the incorrectness of its functioning. On one hand very few citizens know about this legislation, and even fewer know its provisions and only some of people referred to it, on the other hand, the public servants say they don’t have resources in order to satisfy efficiently the demands on information in conditions of law. It’s quite obvious, that in the conditions of law, everybody has the right to search, to get and to make known the official information, but there are a lot of cases where the access to information is hampered. In conclusion, we can mention that the nowadays legislation in the Republic of Moldova concerning the access to information and the protection of the private information needs a perfection. Besides this some measures are necessary, which would make these laws to work for citizens.
