At national level, the Republic of Moldova has adopted and implemented an active policy on preventing and combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. The mechanism to achieve this policy is based on defining principles. The presence of a wide ensemble of authorities with competencies in ensuring the national security, requires the necessity of coordinating their activity aiming at combating and counteracting the possible threats of internal or external nature. Harmonization of national legislation with international and European standards for preventing and combating terrorism is one of the main priorities of the Republic of
Moldova, specified in national programs on implementation of the Action Plan: Republic of Moldova – European Union and the Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) Republic of Moldova – NATO.
Drafting of legislative acts with direct implication of state security representatives in collaboration with central specialized institutions is one of the most important forms of cooperation. Horizontal connection is reflected in the organizational measures taken by state security bodies, in mutual agreement with representatives of central bodies. In conclusion, we could denote that, identification of viable strategies for cooperation and exchange of experience between decision-makers of the Republic of
Moldova, will help to implement a national anti-terrorist policy. This fact will enable the Republic of Moldova to adapt to the international standards on combating terrorism. |
