The article discusses Alexandru Burlacu’s activities at his 60th anniversary: his literary research, his teaching work, his activity as head of the department of literary history and theory, his scientific advising of doctoral thesis in Philology. His concerns as a literary critic are seen as vocation and regular activities. His expertise, always growing, has resulted in a rich book production: studies, articles, literary portraits and reviews that debate, especially, the literary process in Bessarabia of the twentieth century. It is important to mention that Alexandru Burlacu’s works focus on the intrinsic tendency of the literary phenomenon from the east of the Prut namely the phenomenon of synchronization with the literary processes from Romania. As a professor he teaches core courses and he shares his experience with generosity. His colleagues, interested in literary research, are helped to obtain coveted and deserved degrees and titles.
