L’article traite d’un phénomène socio-linguistique qui a eu lieu récemment, en République de Moldova, où la dualité du nom de la langue officielle – le roumain vs le moldave – constitue un sujet de débats publics, de scission de la société, à cause des séquelles laissées par l’occupation tsariste russe, puis soviétique. L’auteur de l’article, professeur et politicienne, députée au Parlement moldave depuis 2009, a saisi la Cour Constitutionnelle moldave au sujet de l’interprétation de l’article 13 de la Constitution, où le nom de la langue officielle est « le moldave utilisant l’alphabet latin ». Suite à cette saisine la Cour Constitutionnelle a constitutionnalisé la Déclaration d’Indépendance de la République de Moldova, ce qui signifie que le nom de la langue y figurant « le roumain » prévaut sur le nom de la langue figurant dans la Constitution – « le moldave » –, car la Déclaration d’Indépendance est l’acte fondateur de l’État et fait bloc constitutionnel commun avec la constitution. L’auteur apporte d’autres arguments afin de clarifier l’histoire de la dualité des glottonymes langue roumaine/langue moldave.

The article addresses to a socio-linguistic phenomenon which took place recently in the Republic of Moldova, where the duality of the name of the official language - Romanian vs Moldovan - is a matter of public debate, division of society , because of the legacy of the Russian and Soviet tsarist occupation. The author of the article, professor and politician, Member of the Moldovan Parliament since 2009, took the Moldovan Constitutional Court concerning the interpretation of Article 13 of the Constitution, where the name of the official language is “Moldovan using the Latin alphabet”. Following this referral to the Constitutional Court which constitutionalized the Independence of the Republic of Moldova, means that the name of the language therein “Romanian” prevails on the name of the language in the Constitution – “Moldovan”- because the Declaration of Independence is the founding document of the state and is common constitutional bloc with the constitution. The author provides other arguments to clarify the history of the duality of language glottonymes Romanian / Moldovan language.
