Rezumat

Based on the existing regulatory framework in the Republic of Moldova, which has propelled the development of social relations on the promotion of geographical indications, it is necessary to intensify their promotion in the conditions of putting the agro-food products on the new markets, especially on the European market, where products are required to impress with territory-related originality. Access to new markets is favored by the completion of negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement, which will become integrant part of the Association Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union, and by the signing of the Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union on Geographical Indications of Agricultural Products and Foodstuffs, ratified by the Law of the Republic of Moldova no. 317 of 27 December 2012.
