Environmental degradation and climate change have brought a new category of people who need protection of the international community: climate refugees. Today there are millions of people forced to migrate because of drought, floods and ecological disasters. Legislation void and the lack of a viable mechanism that would help to protect this category of people put them in an extremely vulnerable position.

Degradarea ecologică şi schimbările climaterice au determinat apariţia unei noi categorii de persoane ce necesită protecţia comunităţii internaţionale: refugiaţii climatici. La zi există milioane de persoane forţate migreze cauza secetei, inundaţiilor sau a catastrofelor ecologice. Golul legislativ în materie precum şi lipsa unui mecanism viabil care ar permite protejarea acestei categorii de persoane îi plasează pe aceştia într-o poziţie extrem de vulnerabilă.
