Les modifications discursives des EI se réalisent d’après les différents modèles dont l’un des plus productifs est l’expansion. Sous ce terme nous entendons tout développement de la structure formelle de ces unités dû à l’ajout des éléments nouveaux qui sont insérés soit entre les composantes de l’unité figée, soit ajoutés à leurs composantes sans perturber l’organisation de ces unités. Les rapports sémantiques entre les éléments additionnés et l’unité idiomatique sont de deux types : compatibilité sémantique avec le sens phraséologique de l’unité ou compatibilité sémantique avec le sens direct de ses composantes. C’est notamment dans le cas de celui dernier que toute la structure subit une transformation sémantique profonde, une resémantisation discursive.

The discursive modifications of idiomatic expressions are realized by different models, where the most productive one is the expansion. By this term we understand the development of the formal structure of these units adding the new elements inserted between the components of the fixed unit, where are added to its components without disrupting the organization of these units. The semantic connections between the added elements and idiomatic unit are of two types: semantic compatibility with the phraseological meaning of the unit or semantic compatibility with the direct meaning of its components. It could be especially, in the last case, when the whole structure undergoes a profound semantic transformation, a discursive resemantisation.
